EJ MATHEWS

EJ Mathews is an award-winning blues artist from the East Texas and Oklahoma region whose music is deeply rooted in the rural traditions of the American South. Raised in the small community of Bivins, Texas, near the Louisiana state line, EJ developed his distinctive style from the influence of his Georgia-born grandfather, whose porch-side slide guitar playing inspired a lifelong commitment to creating original music. His sound, often described as “Backwoods Blues with a Shot of Country,” blends swampy grooves, infectious rhythms, and memorable songwriting that connects with listeners from the very first beat.
